This
institute is established in 1956 . The Founder members of the institute
was Late Mr. Puranmalji Lahoti , Mr. Babasaheb Paranjpe and Swami
Ramanand Teeth. In the earlier days of the institute, in 1956,the
institute had launched one-year diploma course. In 1962 institute
was taken over by Govt. of Maharashtra with name Puranmal Lahoti Government
Polytechnic Latur. This Govt Polytechnic building was constructed
by considering the admission capacity of 340 students per year. So
as per the requirement new construction is necessary and for that
construction land is made available for the new construction. At present
8259 sq. meter have been constructed and still 43 acres of land are
available for future plans. The city Stadium is very beside to the
college. The ITI Institution of Latur also very near to the P.L.G.P.
The
institute is situated in Latur district of Marathwada Region. Latur
city is situated at about 300 Km. from Aurangabad. Latur city is
a district place in the Maharashtra state. The Institute is located
in the heart of Latur city on Latur - Hyderabad road. The Latur
city is having an industrial area developed by M.I.D.C. The industrial
area is situated at about 3 Km. distance from the institute. The
institute is presently having well established buildings and well
equipped laboratories along with a well furnished library. The building
consist of Main Administrative building, WBP Complex, Workshop,
Boys & Girls Hostel, Staff Qtrs., Mess Building. The institute
is having total 34 acres of land, some of which have been used for
construction and a large part are still empty for future expansions.
The institute has sufficient land and space and conveniently located
on road side in the city. There is a big ground is being constructed
for the growth of the games in Latur, which is very beside to there
P.L.G.P . The city is presently famous for it's "Latur Pattern"
in educational areas. The city is having one Engineering College,
one Medical College, one more Government residential Women's Polytechnic
and a number of Arts, Commerce and Science Colleges.
Latur
city is situated at a distance of 480 Km. from
Mumbai. The city is situated in Marathwada Region.
The city is connected to number of cities like
Solapur, Pune, Aurangabad, Mumbai by Road through
State Highways/National Highways. The city is
connected to cities like Hyderabad, Bangalore,
Via Latur Road Pune, Mumbai Via Kurduwadi through
Broad Gauge Railway Lines. The Bus & Railway
Station are located at the center place of the
city. These stations are easily accessible by
local transport. The city is presently having
a Helipad located at institute's campus itself.
The city is having a well-established Aerodrome
The Aerodrome is located at a distance of 12 Km.
from the institute. The city is accessible through
this Aerodrome.
